Hello! Welcome to York Animal Hospital. I provide veterinary medicine and surgery care for livestock, with a special interest in swine and beef production. “Bridging the gap between treatment and prevention” means doing everything I can to increase your bottom line. My primary goal is to prevent disease, increase feed efficiency and rate of gain, and evaluate the environment: all to increase your production and profitability. I want to be an asset to your business while working with you and providing the knowledge and resources to make informed decisions concerning the health, well-being and production of your livestock, in keeping with your business objectives. My interest in veterinary medicine grew out of my experiences on the family livestock and grain farm and in 4-H. I attended The Ohio State University, where I studied Animal Science and received my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1989. After graduation, I worked in a 5 doctor practice providing care for livestock and herd health for dairy and swine. Dr. Murphy and I purchased York Animal Hospital in 1992. In 1998, I completed the intensive 2 year Executive Veterinary Program in Swine Health and Production at the University of Illinois, furthering my interest in swine health and management. From 2000 to 2006, I served two elected terms on the Board of Directors for the American Association of Swine Veterinarians. I serve on the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Concentrated Animal Feeding Facility Advisory Committee as representative for the Ohio Veterinary Medical Association and the Ohio Department of Agriculture’s Swine Health Advisory Committee. My goal is to help you achieve your goals!
